Classic Hummus With Roasted Fava Beans

 

1 x 400g can chickpeas, drained and rinsed

1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (about 1 large lemon)

1/4 cup tahini (sesame seed paste)

1 small garlic clove, minced

2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for serving

1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

Salt to taste

2-3 tablespoons water, as needed

Blend tahini and lemon: In a food processor, combine the tahini and lemon juice. Process for 1 minute until creamy and whipped.

Add oil and seasonings: Add the olive oil, minced garlic, cumin, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Process for 30 seconds, scrape sides, then process 30 seconds more.

Add chickpeas: Add half the chickpeas and process for 1 minute. Scrape sides and add remaining chickpeas. Process for 1-2 minutes until thick and smooth.

Adjust consistency: With processor running, slowly add 2-3 tablespoons water until you reach desired consistency.

Taste and adjust: Season with additional salt, lemon juice, or garlic as needed.

Serve: Transfer to serving bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with Get Farmed Salt & Vinegar Roasted Fava Beans.
